My goal for www.missasherbalproducts.com is to create a place where people can not only find answers to their immediate health questions, but also learn how to improve their health for the future. I believe by learning how to help heal ourselves we also teach healing to those around us through example. I have been dreaming of the day when I could offer my herbal products and knowledge to the public. This web site is the realization of that goal and I am excited to share it with you.
I have been studying herbs for over 20 years, and have been actively making salves, tinctures, and oils for five years. I believe my strong desire to understand and practice herbal medicine comes for my love for, and complete comfort, being in the forest and mountains. They are so full of life, and have everything we need to survive and thrive.
My main mentor for the practice of herbal medicine has been Dr. Jethro Kloss. Through studying his book, “Back to Eden ”, I started down my path of natural medicine.
I was not fortunate enough to study directly under Dr. Jethro, for he has been dead for some time now, but I am grateful that he was able to create his book before his passing. This was my first book about herbs and is still my favorite and most used today.
I received my degree in Herbal Medicine from Australasian School of Health and Science in July 2005. I have also studied pre-med, practiced as a licensed massage therapist, and have been fortunate enough to have studied closely with a very knowledgeable herbalist in Alaska .
I look forward to sharing my herbal knowledge with you, and I’m confident you will find my products to be beneficial. I will be adding more products to the website on a regular basis, so remember to check back often. Many herbs have very similar qualities and I have found it more important to gain an understanding of what a certain plant has to offer, than how many plants there are to learn.
Most importantly, I would like to thank my family and friends who have helped and supported me in my studies. I would specifically like to give thanks my son, Cory, and my daughter, Tessa, for their love, help and strong support. Without them, I could not have walked this path.
I thank you for your time, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Many Blessings!
Missa
